As of today when people ask me "when are you due?", I now have to respond with "I'm overdue."
I feel like a library book...or a blockbuster video...I can only hope I'm not incurring late fees or penalties.

The good news is that everything is fine with the baby. At the doctor's yesterday my blood pressure was 112/80, and I'm almost 3cm dilated. All of which is good news. So we're scheduled for a routine non-stress test for Friday. The doc said the baby will probably be here before then. Yeah yeah, promises promises.  : P

05.08.06
Happy due date to us!!! OK kid...I don't like being late, so something's got to give! Even though I'm 40 weeks pregnant today, Baby Flick just isn't ready to come out yet. Then again, I really don't blame him/her since my diet for this past week has consisted of fruit, chocolate and Baskin Robbins. So who would want that to stop? (Smart kid.)
I've been walking around alot and trying to stay in motion. So this weekend we took Aleethea swimming. Here's a movie of us at the dog beach.

05.05.06
While we're awaiting Baby Flick...Mommy and I have been taking some pictures. Here's a picture of Mommy and Aleethea sitting on the lanai together. And here are a few pix of Aleethea: Here's Aleethea and her doggie-mom Sheila, and here's the crazy eyed doggie running around in the backyard, being all hyperactive. This one's really cute...here's Aleethea then...and now, still the same silly puppy.
: )

05.04.06
Well...we're 39 weeks & 4 days pregnant...but no baby yet. I wonder if Baby Flick will decide to make his or her appearance this weekend. Wouldn't that be convenient? A weekend baby would mean Joe wouldn't have to rush home from work...and I wouldn't have to worry about him driving home in a frenzied panic. Yeah...a weekend baby would be nice. But my due date isn't until Monday, and I was born on a Monday...so we'll just have to wait and see. :)

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

04.30.06
Manny's flight leaves today... his vacation with us is over.   : (
We've had so much fun this past week, and we're really going to miss him. Here's a picture of Joe and Manny playing basketball.
And here's Manny when we used him as our model for our new Baby Carrier...he and Snoopy did a great job figuring out how to strap the carrier together.    : )

04.27.06
Happy Birthday to Joe's nephew Manny!!! We took Manny out to dinner, here he is at Don Pablo's when everybody was singing to him.

04.23.06
Happy Birthday to meeeeeee....Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeee....!!!!!
How cute is the birthday cake Joseph baked for me? It's in the shape of a butterfly! Check it out here.

Not only is it my b-day but it's also Greek Easter!! Xronia Polla - and - Kaloh Pasxa!!!

And to top it all off Joe's nephew Manny arrived today for one week. Could the day be any better???

04.17.06
Yesterday we hung up silky sheer yellow curtains in the nursery, to soften the room a bit and also to let in some natural light.
Today I'm 37 weeks ...it's hard to believe Joe and I will be meeting our new bundle of joy in only a few weeks.

04.16.06
Happy Easter! Joe and I watched the Godfather I, II, and III this weekend - we're all mafia'd out now.

Next weekend Joe's nephew Manny arrives in Orlando for vacation! Then, my mom is arriving a few days later and staying for one month to spend time with her new grandchild - and to help us when the baby arrives.  :  )

We're so excited and can't wait to see them!

OK, listen to this...according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, I'm having a boy! ;  )

I know what you're saying...the calendar is probably just an ancient myth, right? Maybe, but it's fun to ponder a baby boy nonetheless. So here's what I did: First I used the calendar to find the gender of some of my family and friends...and it was 100% accurate for family and friends. Then I used the calendar to determine the gender of Baby Flick, just out of curiousity - and it shows Baby Flick is a boy. But here are the facts so you can decide for yourself...have fun!

"The Chinese Lunar Calendar to determine your baby's sex was taken from a 700 year old Royal Tomb near Peking, China. The original document is on display at China's Institute of Science. Many thousands of people believe that this calendar is 99% accurate. It's based on the month a baby is conceived not the birth month. The second factor is the mother's age at the time of conception adding 9 months to her age to adjust the calendar."

This morning I dropped Aleethea off at a doggie daycare - it's her first time there, she'll be there for 4 hours. We needed to find a place where we could take her in a jiffy when I go into labor. The facility is named K-9 lounge and Aleethea seems to be enjoying herself. I'm watching her on the doggie web cam as she plays indoors and out with the other dogs. It's so cute! Here are a few pictures of Aleethea at doggie daycare: Here she is sitting and relaxing and here's Aleethea making friends.

You'll notice things look a little different around here. We launched this new website today! Woohoo!!!

Today I'm 29 weeks, and officially in my 3rd trimester...the home stretch! For the past 2 months I've been going to sleep at night with my CD player - except I don't put the earphones in my ears...instead, I put the earphones directly on my belly for the baby to hear. The baby LOVES the soothing music on the "Baby Einstein" CD. When the CD stops, the baby starts kicking! As soon as I press play, the kicking stops. Here's a picture Joe took of us yesterday. My belly is SO big @ 29 weeks! And here's a picture of Joe building shelves for the nursery, while Aleethea stands guard.

What does the best husband in the world buy his pregnant wife for Valentine's Day?

We special ordered a doggy birthday cake for her. It's made out of banana bread, peanut butter and cream cheese.
Joe's picking it up after work, and then tonight at 8pm Aleethea's best friend Lola is coming over to celebrate. : )

Happy birthday Nana!!

01.09.06
Today I'm 23 weeks and counting...the baby does all sorts of somersaults in my belly at night. When Joe and I poke my belly slightly, the little bugger pokes back with deadly force. He or she is so strong already! It's getting a little bit scary around here... : )

Seriously though, Joe and I had so much fun at the mall this weekend. We went to Baby Gap and bought the future Baby Flick his or her first little newborn outfit!!!! It's an adorable little one-piece with cute little animals on it, and it's a unisex sage color. We also bought a yellow snuggly blanket thing, you know - the bundly kind that you wrap all around the baby so that they're nice and snug. I'm sure I'll get the hang of all the names of these cute little baby things...but right now...I forget what it's called.

On a sour note...have you ever eaten at Cinnabon? We snacked there yesterday for the first time in...almost forever. Ugh...and believe me when I tell you this...
that is the LAST time I EVER eat at that place. I'm still not sure why it happened, because all I had was those yummy Cinnastix, and half of a Chillatta (cold cappuccino). But I got so sick!!! On the way home...ugh...the belly was not liking me at all! It got real ugly when we got home...IF you know what I mean. Not a pretty sight.

Happy 16th Birthday to Sandra's nephew Alex!!!

12.24.05
Hi all...Sandra here. Wow, it's been a while since I've visited our blog. Here's an update on our pregnancy: Today I'm 5 months and 4 days. Yesterday the Doctor was trying to listen to the baby's heartbeat and the baby shifted away from him a few times. He or she is very active in there. We think the baby's going to be pretty darn athletic. :) Here's a picture of us. Happy Holidays!!!

Happy 16th Birthday to Sandra's nephew Nicholas!!! We love and miss you Niko-Niko! And as my niece Kristen would say...Happy Sweet 16 to her brother! :P
She actually had a pink balloon sent to her brother's classroom for his b-day. What a riot!

10.03.05
Well, here's an update on our lives. Lately I've been working on a website for another client. As for Joe, he resigned from his job and accepted a much better offer
as an IT Coordinator. I'm so happy that Joe loves his new job, and I'm so proud of him! As for Aleethea, she's just been relaxing on the couch...as usual.

09.30.05
Happy 18th Birthday to Sandra's nephew Justin!!! We love and miss you!

08.20.05
Today we were admiring Joe's sister's wedding photos. We decided that the beautiful pictures needed some space online, so that all of you could enjoy them too. So here's a link to a virtual photo album of  Theresa and Al's Wedding. Enjoy!

08.18.05
Here's Aleethea playing with a McDonald's happy meal toy. Check out her Barbie watch! It was soon torn to pieces. Cute while it lasted.

08.17.05
My nephew Alex was here for one week's vacation, he left on Monday. :( We had so much fun together! Joe rescued a tiny little frog who happened to jump his way into our living room. First we put him in a bowl, and added a little bit of water to it. Then, we put some fish flake food in the bowl and covered it. Then...after taking a bunch of pictures of the poor little thing, we set him free outside. Oh, and here's what I learned while Alex was here:

  1. I stink @ Monopoly on Wednesdays
  2. Dr. Doom is the SCARIEST ride @ Universal Studios
  3. The movie "Proof of Life" gets better every time we watch it
  4. Frogs are pretty gross
  5. I'm the best @ Monopoly on Sundays
  6. My nephew Alex looks more and more like The Hulk everyday
  7. In 95 degree weather, there's nothing better than a Dunkin Donuts Coffee Coolatta

Vacations are over for my niece and nephews, and almost over for me too. Back to college in 2 weeks. But before it begins again, I'm happy to be enjoying my time in between semesters. I get the chance to sit down and relex, and also reflect on these past few months. It's been quite hectic for us, to say the least.

Since June, I've developed 3 websites for clients, attended college full time with 5 classes, managed to maintain a 3.7 GPA and earn a Computer Programming & Analysis degree. (toot-toot!)

It's been bananas, but fun nonetheless.

08.16.05
Happy 1 Year Wedding Anniversary to us! Tonight we went out to dinner, and I had the best lobster linguini ever.

08.15.05
THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS ROCK!!!

08.08.05
My 14 year old niece Kimberly left for home today.  : (  She was here in Orlando for one week, and we had soooooo much fun together!!! We went to Universal Studios and went on so many rides, stayed up all night the other night, we got our nails done, went shopping, played at the lake with Aleethea, played Monopoly until 3AM, and baked a cake with UFO's on it.  : )

Also while she was here I showed her how to create a website, how to write HTML code, and she ended up creating her own website! She's so awesome, and so smart. Here's a link to Kimberly's website! Check out her link to pix from Florida.

Joe and I dropped off Kimberly a couple of hours ago...and now...we're on our way back to the airport to pick up Kimberly's brother Alex. He'll be here for one week! :D

My grandmother Lita is home from the hospital, and feeling much more comfortable now.

07.31.05
My 93 year old grandmother Lita has been having difficulty breathing lately. Thursday night my aunt took her to the hospital. She's still there now, she has fluid in her lungs. My aunt said tonight Lita seemed to be more of herself, and less quiet than she was the nights before. Lita was asking to be covered up since she felt a bit cold. She appears to be doing a little bit better now, and will probably be coming home from the hospital tomorrow.

07.20.05
Here's a link to Aquarius Door Services, located in Wyckoff, NJ. I just finished developing that website for them.

I've been so busy lately between school and working on a website for a client. I haven't had any time to blog anything, update our website, or reply to any of your eMails. But, I'm taking a moment to share our little adventure with you:

Why does car trouble only happen to us around a holiday?

Have you ever went food shopping, packed the groceries into the car, and then tried to start your car...and...it won't start??!! It happened to Joe and I yesterday with my SUV. We just finished shopping, and were in the parking lot of the Publix supermarket when it happened. At least we got stuck in a place where there were plenty of people around to help! Plus, I had my handy jumper cables in the trunk, so we were good to go. We popped open the hood and asked a fellow shopper to give us a jump. They did, and we made it home safely. So, this morning we took my truck to get fixed @ the Isuzu dealer. It needed a new battery, which was under warranty, so...no big deal.

There's nothing like a handy set of jumper cables, to go along with the nice person who's willing to give you a jump. :)

Wife,
Please blog this...

Today, we gave Meera back to Michael, the guy we gave her to a while back. Apparently, while Michael was out of town he left Meera with his parents who live down the block from the guy that found her, Jeff. Well, somehow she got out and since Michael got back from out of town, he has not yet spoken to his parents. So, you can only imagine the looks on their faces when Michael calls them and tells them he has Meera.

Meera was so happy to see Michael. She jumped all over him and was ecstatic, shaking her rear-end so hard. The poor girl was so excited she couldn't wag her tail fast enough. Meera, we are sad to see you go. :-(

On the brighter side of things, we can begin to focus more on Aleethea and her obedience training again. That is, we being Sandra. Sandra gets all the credit for training Aleethea. I am lucky Aleethea can even understand me when I talk to her in Greek. Yes, I owe my Greek lessens to Sandra as well.

The Meera saga is to be continued for now, we will be setting up some play dates so they can see each other again soon.

Thanks Mama,
The Husband

06.29.05
Happy Birthday Ma!!!!!!!

06.23.05
OK, who remembers the little pup Joe and I found in the dog park in April? You know, the little tan one, her name's Meera, and she's on our doggie pictures here. Well, listen to this update. Yesterday I get a call from our vet, telling me that someone named Jeff has found Meera. Jeff called the vet's office number on Meera's collar, and since we took Meera for all her shots, we're listed as the owners, and the vet called us.

Can you believe it? Poor little Meera, alone on the streets again. I couldn't believe it! The guy Michael we gave her to on June 1st must've lost her, somehow. Anyway, so we went to Jeff's house which was only a couple of miles away, and we brought Meera home with us again. Once we got home, we called Michael, but got his answering machine, which said he was out of town until next Tuesday! Then, we looked up Michael's address, and as it turns out, he only lives a couple of blocks away from Jeff!

We haven't yet heard from Michael, since he's out of town, and we don't even know if he's aware that Meera is lost...and found. Maybe he left Meera with a neighbor, and the neighbor was careless and the pup got loose. Maybe he lost Meera herself, while he was out of town, and she found her way back home! Who knows. Either way, she's with us now...again...temporarily.

Aleethea was ecstatic to see her, and they've been playing ever since. And fighting, and kissing, and playing in the mud. :)

P.S. Meera means "Fate" in Greek. You do the math.

06.20.05
The pictures are here!!! I finally got a chance to post the pictures from our trip to PA/NY/NJ two weeks ago. You can view our vacation pictures here, on their own page. Enjoy!

06.20.05
My nephew Justin went back home to Pennsylvania today.  : (  But we had such an awesome time with him, and we took over 100 pictures together! Since there were so many pictures, I decided to add a link to the bottom of every one of our webpages entitled "Justin's Vacation". You can check out Justin's vacation pictures here. You'll see pictures of us at Universal studios, at NBA City Cafe, and getting temporary tattoos!

In addition, you can read Justin's guestbook entry here which sums up his week with us here in Florida.

06.14.05
It's so nice to be home. Joe and I are back from our 4 day trip up North, visiting family in PA, NY, and NJ. We had an absolute blast! It was great seeing everyone again.

I'll post our pix soon, so be on the lookout for them. Since we took a total of 197 digital pictures on our trip, it'll take me a little while to figure out the best way to organize them and post them here for you to see. But I should have them up within a few days.

Now, my nephew Justin is here for the week. Yaaaay! The fun just doesn't stop!

06.05.05
My oldest nephew Justin (left in photo) is coming for a visit in a couple of weeks, and he'll be spending one week with us here in Florida!
We can't wait til he gets here!

Joe and I have been cleaning up, and Joe's been doing an awesome job rearranging the guest room furniture, and preparing it for my nephew "baby Yustin"...as we still call him. :) When Justin was younger, I told him he could drive my SUV when he got his driver's license. So now that he has his license, my 4WD Isuzu Vehicross also awaits him.

Aleethea is also awaiting Justin patiently, she can't wait to meet him. She's been sitting in the guest room, as she curls up next to the stuffed animals.

06.04.05
Happy 93rd Birthday to my grandmother, Lita!!!!!!!!! I love you, see you soon!

06.01.05
Yesterday in the dog park, I was approached by someone with a bulldog/pitbull who was fascinated with our newly found pup Meera. He noticed the signs we posted, about finding the lost pup, and he said he's been looking to adopt another dog. He wanted to take Meera home with him. After thinking it over, Joe and I called him, and let him know we'd give Meera to him. So, today we said goodbye to Meera. She's with another family now, and thus our foster parent work is done. We'll get to see her at the dog park, which is great, since we miss her already. Originally, we thought Aleethea would miss her too...but I think I heard Aleethea say "good riddens" when Meera walked out of our lives. Aleethea is ecstatic to once again be the spoiled baby of the house. :) No more sharing her toys, no more sharing her bones, no more fighting in the morning, no more fighting at feeding time, nor more fighing at night. And once again, she gets to lay in her favorite spot on the couch. All things considered, it was a wonderful six weeks with Meera. All's well that ends well.

05.15.05
I edited our home page.

I updated my school projects website here.

04.28.05
To Do List: 1. Change the name to Joe and Sandra's blog. :-)

Hi, everyone. It's me, Joe. I finally have some down time so I thought I would contribute to our blog.

First off, every chance you get, please compliment Sandra on what a great website she has put together to share with our family and friends. She invests a lot of time and effort in it and I think it's great! It really shows the progress she is making in school.

And now for a quick story..

Sandra has this great camera she bought in Greece years ago and it takes beautiful pictures. In fact, most of the pictures on this website, except for our Wedding photos , were taken with that camera. So, since it takes such beautiful pictures, we have been resisting buying a digital camera, besides the fact that they are a little expensive. Well, after the last few times we had photos developed, forget it, it's digital camera time! Down here, there are no photo development places like in New York , only drug stores. We take our film to CVS to get developed where they also make a CD with the electronic versions of the pictures. The last few times we brought pictures to be developed, there always seems to have been a problem; they didn't make the CD, they developed the pictures with poor quality, the pictures on the CD are backwards (mirrored images) , etc. This last time takes the cake...we found that one of the CDs we previously had developed had the pictures of us backwards. So, we brought that CD back with an additional roll of film to be developed. BIG MISTAKE! What did we get back, you ask? A blank CD to replace the one we wanted fixed due to the backwards pictures AND the new roll we dropped off had the CD pictures backwards. Sandra and I came to the conclusion that they were trying to tell us something; DON'T COMPLAIN! :-) Nonetheless, it's not a big deal. Although it has been inconvenient, the CVS is pretty close and they always do make good, at some point, on fixing the problem.

Hope you enjoyed the story! I really didn't intend it to be that long but I am starting to tell stories like my sister Theresa , loooooonnnnnggggggg.

Keep checking out our website. We love and miss everyone! - Joe

Here's a video of Aleethea I took w/the web cam. It's an .avi file, and it's a pretty big file, so be patient when downloading.

04.27.05
Happy Birthday my nephew Manny!!!! We miss you and hope your b-day was awesome!!!

04.23.05
Xronia Polla! Feliz cumpleanos a mi...I had the best birthday!!! Thank you to my awesome husband Joe for remembering what I wanted, even though I mentioned it months ago. Thank you Mommy for sending me the most beautiful flowers I've ever received. And the moolah too! And another great gift I got was the conversation I had with my brother Gagie, uh...I mean Georgie, since we've both been way too busy and hadn't spoken in many moons.
And to my sister Melissa, but we talk all the time! : ) And to my nephew and niece, Niko-Niko and Kristen, and my sister-in-law Debs for calling me. And to Nana & Tio Edwin for sending me a card stuffed with moolah. They really shouldn't have...but I'm glad they did! : ) And for that singing voice mail! Thanks so much to everyone who called me, and to Lolita for singing happy birthday to me over the phone, that was great.

We spent my b-day cash on dinner, at the beautiful Toscana's restaurant, in Avalon Park.
Joe and I took some b-day pix, and I'll be uploading them to the site soon.

Also, we found a puppy and named her Meera. We put flyers up in the neighborhood, hoping to find her family. Here are some pix of her and Aleethea. Meera is the little beige dog.

I finally got around to updating our website, and removing the frames. The homepage is basically the same, with the exception of the location of the links, and I've added the new About Us page. I thought it would be simpler for everyone if I put the links at the bottom of the every page, making it easier for everyone to navigate.
